operational resilience - japan
Project Insights was engaged by a premium snow sports service in Japan, known for offering luxury, bespoke experiences for high-end clients. The company were looking to bolster operations and build in quality management processes that would support its future growth and attract potential investors.
Over the course of five weeks, numerous staff interviews enabled Project Insights to gain a deep understanding of the business vision, its successes, and its challenges. During this period, Project Insights fully immersed itself in the organization, participating in all team meetings, group discussions, and operations to gather comprehensive insights. While management consultants often rely on rigid, formulaic approaches to business analysis, we took a more flexible, hands-on approach. By embedding ourselves in the day-to-day operations and leading multiple workshops and analyses, we were able to generate authentic insights that drive impactful, high-value outcomes.
Key achievements:
In the project-end survey, staff rated the business process workshops to be of the highest value. Staff commented on the value of having senior figures take ownership of key processes and how they appreciated a deeper understanding of everyone’s role.
The implementation of a new staff assignment spreadsheet has replaced a manual whiteboard process used in previous years. The business expects this new system to radically improve their efficiency in winter logistics and to form a foundation for scalability allowing the company to grow while they maintain their very high standards of guest services.
Complete restructure of document library under Google Drive, archiving of thousands of outdated documents and simplified folder structure that now saves staff time and frustration in locating important documents and on relying on their version validity.
Delivered approximately 30% on top of agreed scope within the 5 weeks initiative.
